eBay is Australia's and the world's online marketplace, where over 108 million members (individuals and businesses) actively buy and sell practically anything every year! Working within AU Business Analytics group, the Pricing Manager will partner with the AU Pricing BU, and provides thought leadership, analytics, and actionable insights to eBay Australia’s organization to drive better business results.
Main responsibilities include:
• Develop a deep understanding of eBay’s offerings, customers, and key business drivers and how they fit together by working with various business partner groups. Establish effective working relationships with business unit partners and cross functional teams as a key financial advisor.
• Conduct customer and competitive analysis to help deliver a better pricing strategy. Monitor the impact of pricing to identify pain points and growth potential for eBay and it’s community
• Review existing pricing approaches by referring to alternative electronic market places, best practice in the offline environment and research
• Proactively generate insights by utilizing our data warehouse
• Undertake research to better understand the needs of sellers
• Engage and maintain global pricing team relationships to share insights, expertise and experience
• Continually inform wider business about insights to influence decision making and strategic direction
• Plan, manage and execute the bi-annual pricing review:
• Work with Pricing BU to formulate recommendations of bi-annually pricing change.
• Help the creation of business case. Lead the forecasting / modelling and analysis of the business and community impact.
• Set-up price promotions to field-test specific price points and based on results refine pricing recommendations accordingly
• Input into survey design to seek community feedback
• Manage internal stakeholders and obtain their approval
• Measure the impact of pricing and promotions and refine approach
• Set targets and KPIs for pricing initiatives
• Measure and evaluate performance of price changes and promotions ensure
• Ensuring pricing aligns to budget and delivers a positive business result
• Report outcomes and learning’s to business
• Provide other decision support to the Seller Experience team as needed.
Basic Qualifications
(Knowledge, skills, abilities, experience required to perform job)
• 5+ years related experience in finance/analytics/consulting, or Masters plus 3+ years related experience with proven analytics capabilities and operating successfully in fast-paced, highly complex environments.
• Exceptional business judgment and quantitative analytic ability.
• Superior communication skills – verbal, written & presentation skills. Ability to deal with complex analytics and summarize key takeaways and business implications.
• Intellectual curiosity with a passion for problem-solving and creativity
• Ability to thrive in a cross-functional environment while juggling multiple responsibilities, scoping projects, evaluating priorities, and effectively working well within a team.

Technical skills
• Superior Excel (modelling, pivot tables, advance functions, statistics), and PowerPoint skills.
• Candidates should be prepared to go through prior work in advanced Excel modelling.
• Strong SQL coding and database query capabilities.
