The Land Governance Assessment Framework (LGAF) is a diagnostic tool to help evaluate the legal framework, policies, and practices regarding land governance and to monitor improvement over time. It emerged from a collaborative process between the World Bank and its partners that was based on the recognition of the increasingly important role of land governance to help
countries deal with the challenges of the 21st century in terms of climate change, urbanization, disaster prevention, and anagement of increased demand for land in an integrated way that provides a basis for demonstrating progress over time.
