I assume I could offer you some experience.
Life is so short.
You'd better weight your actual investment (time) and your possible earning (happiness).
For a man, he has to.
Because he must maximize the future opportunity. (for his family, his kids)
It is his natural obligation.
For a female, not really.
I have a lot of female ph.d friends.
They have spent their best time on their academic career.
So, here is a cruel reality.
When they bring their kids with them on the street,
a lot of people will assume they are the grandmothers.
The more cruel reality is it is just the beginning of the later story.
A lot of U.S. professionals do the same thing.
Like Jobs said, there are far more important things in your life.
For a female, she has to consider more.
That's why female is normally greater than male.
Her love is ranked NO.1 in the three greatest loves.
In summary,
it's no doubt that after working so hard for a while you will be admitted.
The question is,
in the long run, whether this is what you really want?
I hope this helps.
