I think the version of to the present should cover the portion of to to the age Of Napoleon, because to the present version has 1342 pages, but to the age Of Napoleon only has 592 pages. So, you could read "to the present" version up to Napoleon section. I've checked the table of contents of both books. The book "A History Of Modern Europe: From The Renaissance To The Age Of Napoleon" is the chapter 1 to 13 in the book "A History of Modern Europe : From the Renaissance to the Present". Therefore, you could just read through chapter one to thirteen. Chapter 14 to 30 is published as "A History Of Modern Europe Vol. II From the French Revolution to the Present". So, combining volume I and II becomes "A History of Modern Europe : From the Renaissance to the Present". I hope this helps.
