I’m greatly honored and privileged to be a candidate today, and am particularly grateful for the opportunity to commune with the professors that I have longed to meet and study from. First, please allow me to briefly introduce myself. My name is **, an undergraduate student from the College of Economics in ** University. The four years of my college life can be generalized in these words: Comprehensive reading in the classic economic literature broadened my eyeshot; active participation in the social practice activity closed my relationship with the social reality as well as deepened my understanding of the bookish knowledge. My strong capability of self-study and regular strategy of self-development has endowed me with a shrewd mind to accomplish my goal. Becoming an outstanding theorist in economics is what I resolve to do as my lifetime goal once I get to realize my interest and potentials in the arena. It is exactly for this goal that I have kept striving throughout my entire undergraduate study, and for which I chose to join in this fierce competition.
