<P>This topic is based on a paper I am currently working on with a co-auther. When the 10 new member countries of the European Union replace their national currency with the Euro, their earnings from money creation (seigniorage) will change, because the European Central Bank will collect the seiniorage from the Euro and will redistribute it to the participating countries. We estimated gains and losses for each country and analyzed the underlying components.</P>
