The Finite Element Method using MATLAB

The Finite Element Method for solving equations is used widely in engineering and many physical disciplines. This volume describes the formulations and programs of the finite element method used for solving boundary value problems, vital value problems and eigenvalue problems. It uses Matlab to solve finite element method and solid/structural types of problems, making it easier to obtain solutions. The programs in the book are fully explained and easily modified to suit other types of problems. Various finite element formulations are presented, enabling readers to compare different formulations and their merits as well as their limits.
