【内容提要】文章以我国东部地区12个省(自治区、直辖市)为研究的区域单元，以旅游外汇收入为测度区域入境旅游发展的基本依据，从绝对差异和相对差异两个角度定量分析了1990-2006年我国东部地区内入境旅游发展的差异特征及其变化趋势，结果显示：绝对差异不断扩大，相对差异缓慢缩小；相对发展速度差异显著，呈现“马太效应”；区域差异格局未发生根本性变化。然后，文章从区域经济发展水平、对外开放水平、地缘关系和宏观政策四方面对东部地区入境旅游发展差异形成的影响因素进行探讨，并提出加快落后省区入境旅游发展保持发达省区竞争力的建议。

【英文摘要】Choosing 12 Provinces(Autonomous Regions and Municipalities)of East China as regional units, taking tourism foreign exchange earnings as fundamental basis to measure the development of regional inbound tourism from two angles of absolute and relative difference, this paper analyzes quantitatively features and trend of difference of inbound tourism in the eastern region from 1990 to 2006. The result shows: absolute difference is expanding constantly, but relative difference is narrowing slowly; there exists significant difference in the pace of development, presenting "the Matthew effect"; the pattern of regional disparity is not a fundamental change. Finally, this paper explains four main factors, which impact the development of inbound tourism in East China, and gives some suggestions to accelerate the development of inbound tourism of backward areas and maintain the competitiveness of developed areas.
