Two Chinese bullet trains crashed four years after China’s first high-speed trains began operating and the accuracy of official death toll was suspected less than actual after a two-year-old girl was found alive and four relatives of one man lost lives in the accident.
The tragedy closes the door to sell China’s nascent high-speed rail technology to the world, at least for the moment. Japanese used to oppose China’s industrial scale copying of rail technology from the world and spoke out loudly the safety concerns in China. But China insists that it own nearly all the intellectual property through a process of technology importation, digestive absorption, independent reinnovation and localization. Executives of foreign rail companies argued that the staggering speed of Chinese bullet trains potentially compromise their safety.
The serious questions hang over the provenance of China’s high-speed rail technology stop other countries from taking the risks to import Chinese bullet trains regardless of their cheap cost. The crash and the way it is handled, including the sack of the top officials in the railway ministry to anti-corruption, raise wider questions about governance in China. Three senior railway officials from the Shanghai Railway Bureau were fired and An Lusheng, demoted in connection with China’s last large train disaster, took the place of the head of the Bureau. The wrecked carriages were buried in less than 24 hours after the crash, leading to the suspicion that there were still some bodies undiscovered on the train.
The crash mars the image of China in the global marketplace, and even more serious is that it hurts the sentiment of Chinese citizens in the safety and stabilization on the national fast economic development path.

最近这些天都是在谈论723甬温线的特大事故，电视媒体也有很多播放德国高铁事故的来龙去脉的视频，日本新干线47年无事故以及国外是如何应对高铁事故的
这次事故官方的做法欠缺妥善，而且那天晚上的新闻发布会也比较乱，当然这也说明我们在进步，可是在生命无谓的逝去时所取得的进步是否是代价过大了啊，都说美国指责我们人权问题，干预我们人权等等，回过头来看看，我们这样的做法与以前的抨击，情何以堪呐

i was very angry when i read this sentence. i felt the foreignor denied our own tech. they said that after the accident why did they point out before?  i don't agree  because ours are deifferent from theirs then ours must be wrong. this moment  i  dislike foreign media  comment on our country casually!!
