本书内容不多，但可谓短小精悍，全书包括100余条写作技巧和策略，几乎每条在讲解之外都有示例，行文也直来直去，丝毫不拖泥带水。有些写作技巧书本身质量不俗，但关于写作品鉴的主观内容偏多，对于ESL学习者来说消化起来会比较吃力，比如《How to Write a Sentence: And How to Read One》一书就很典型，相比之下，本书全程干货的写作风格就容易上手得多。
一言以蔽之，这是一本在掌握了基本写作规范且具备了一定写作能力后可以用来提升写作表达水平的书。
