哈佛大学Ken Rogoff教授获2011年度荷兰银行金融经济学奖!

Professor Ken Rogoff of the Harvard Economics Department has recently been awarded the Deutsche Bank Prize in Financial
Economics 2011.
The prize honors an internationally renowned researcher in the fields of finance, money and macroeconomics, whose work has
led to practice and policy-relevant results. The prize jury praised Ken for his "pioneering contributions," notably his work
on the origins of crises. The prize, which is sponsored by the Deutsche Bank Donation Fund and awarded by the Goethe
University's Center for Financial Studies, carries a cash award of 50,000 Euro. The prize holder is also appointed a
Distinguished Fellow of the Center for Financial Studies.
The presentation of the prize by Josef Ackermann, CEO of Deutsche Bank, will take place as part of an academic symposium in
Frankfurt on 22 September 2011.
Rogoff生平:
Rogoff grew up in Rochester, New York. His father was a Professor of Radiology at the University of Rochester. He attended East High School.
Rogoff received a B.A. from Yale University summa cum laude in 1975, and a Ph.D. in Economics from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology in 1980.
Early in his career, Rogoff served as an economist at the International Monetary Fund, and at the Board of Governors of the Federal Reserve System.
He is an elected member of the American Academy of Arts and Science as well as a Fellow of the Econometric Society, and a former Guggenheim Fellow.[citation needed]
Rogoff was the Charles and Marie Robertson Professor of International Affairs at Princeton University.[citation needed]
He later served as Economic Counsellor and Director, Research Department of the International Monetary Fund from August 2001 to September 2003.[citation needed]
Rogoff was also in the spotlight because of his dispute with Joseph Stiglitz, a former Chief Economist of the World Bank and 2001 Nobel Prize winner. The dispute was triggered by the critique made by Stiglitz on the International Monetary Fund. Rogoff, in response to the critique, wrote an Open Letter To Joseph Stiglitz.
