The competition is augmented comparing value chain of one company against other. This study is designed to analyze working capital management of the Chinese automotive industry from 2016-2018 through the time conversion cycle in the value chain. The adopted methodology imparts a comprehensive understanding of the value chain encompassing the network from raw materials to the end consumers. On average, the cash conversion cycle for the industry under consideration resulted to be 68 days. This study further reveals that the variation in the cycle times of the working capital is predominantly a function of the variations in inventory cycle times. Subject to the low difference in the cash conversion cycle (CCC) for the period under consideration, the change in the position of value chain was not significant. The financial value chain analysis incorporated in this study could be employed as an initiating stage to manage and organize the working capital by the value chain.预投期刊：Educational Technology & Society找国内优质合作者共同参与讨论研究
