"So, the difference between a literature survey and a literature review is the
difference between report and critique. Ideally, the completing student should
have developed a ‘critical voice’. The literature review in the dissertation
should ‘make sense’ of the literature in terms of the thesis. If the literature
review is well-structured and appropriately critical, then, ultimately, the
research question ‘emerges’ as an ‘inevitable’ conclusion of the literature
review." (CHAPTER 6 Reading)
