Description:
This manual is designed to train the organization's workforce in Total Quality Management (TQM). Unlike others on this subject, it provides a complete presentation from an introduction to the principles of quality management to a case application of implementing the concept. The presentation charts are arranged in sequential order and follow the approach used by the author intraining seminars in the United States, Australia, and Saudi Arabia.
The introductory chapter presents a current overview of the status of TQM in the United States. This is recommended as a preliminary reading. The presentation charts have been generi-. cally designed to enable adaptation to different organizations. Unique characteristics, peculiar to specific organizations, can therefore be supplemented and added by the presenter as desired.
A discussion of Deming's 14-Point TQM Philosophy has been included as Chapter Two.
The manual assumes that the presenter has a basic understandingof quality management. The reference section lists many books on TQM principles which provide a helpful refresher for the presenter. Our purpose here was not to repeat the numerous discussions of TQM concepts contained in many available books but to provide a ready-made training format which can be used in all operational seminar/workshop contexts.
