There are only benefits, not friendship!
So I think if there are benefits which is big enough, such as allowing us to buy their technologies, we can agree with RMB appreciation. However, the assumptions don't hold, so we certainly control the RMB appreciation.
I wonder how bigger the benefit should be to give us enough attractiveness for RMB appreciation?

Chairman Hu has refused to appreciate the RMB since it will affect too much on China's economy. the appreciation of RMB yuan will incur more disadvantages than advantages to the sustainable development of the Chinese economy, nor will it help improve the Japanese and American economies.  

The US will never dare to label China a currency manipulator so apparently. RMB is seen up and down these years, and the advantages of China's goods exported have been declining and Indonesia and other Asia countries become the manufacturing center of the world. the proportion of imports in China's trade volume  grows gradually.

the RMB, absolutely, will continue to appreciate in the next two years, and some new measures will be taken by us.  CJKFTA（free trade area of China, Japan, and Korea) will be built up in the near coming year, and the settlement service in RBM  in international trade will be adopted with the appreciation and great importance of RMB.

So, it is not so bad, right? do not worry too much,  we have our own solutions.

Maybe it is just a kind of political game!

It's not only a problem of the increasing value of Yuan to dollars, It's also a game between two super economic bodies. Owning to that case, maybe we can view it in the point of game theory, the battle between the Yuan and dollars will end at an balance point, sonner or later.

Americans spray their dollars throughout the world, which brings lots of benifits to themselves. They say nothing.When the stuation to them is terrible, they jump to say others are wrong. UNFAIR!

it is not only an economic problem but also a political problem. it seems  that both china and america don't want the relations to become too bad. they sometimes behaves  toughly and sometimes positively. just like some guys said it was a game.
