this is a good topic, but I still want to say why we list the worst professors in every universities or colleges in USA? Through this way, we can let the new applicants know them and avoid applying for the wrong professors to spoil their causes in the coming future, right?
I see some articles in Renren website, but not in our Renda Economical Forum.

A key point hidden in those titles is that a U.S. university has a tenure system, which grants an assistant professor 6 years to be promoted to an Associate professor, eliminates those assistant professors who fail, and almost guarantees the job positions of tenured professors. Almost all other job titles are just titles. Those academic staff who are neither on the tenure track nor tenured are just temporary workers whose contracts are usually renewed year by year. This point makes a huge difference between the promotion system of academic staff in China and that in the U.S..
