I guess the culture plays a main role when luxury brands capture the taste of Chinese people. As more and more Chinese own spare cash, they like to buy wellknown international brands to show off their position, that is, they belong to an upper level society. And China has a large population, the purchase power is quite strong. While foreigners seem to be more concerned with low price and high quality goods, as they are said to go to places such as Xiushui Street in Beijing quite often. If it were not for the cheap price, how could Chinese export so many consumption goods abroad?
