Other things being equal, at any given effort level ~e, the social objective could then be to maximize the advantage of the individual that is worst off, i.e. that has the lowest level of advantage

这其实就是一个多目标问题，一共有两个目标，在要求最小的r的基础上求最大值，好像意思是要最大化穷人的个体优势，也就是最低层次的优势。
