It depends how you want to define consumers' utility function. Intangible stuff like the value of a brand may not (perhaps should not?) enter their utility function at all -- if all else held constant (i.e., quality, service, etc.).

Those intangible stuff sure works it way. The logo is very popular especially among youngsters and I think that is one of reason why many people want to have apple products.
