The US economy grew slower than expected, as consumers spent less because of the higher product price. Japan’s tsunami also raised automobile’s costs. However, the business spent more in the second quarter and the house market seemed to be on the rise, which may drive employment rate up.
The main obstacle for small business to hire is that they don’t have the access to credit and they are not willing to borrow due to the slew of economic uncertainties ahead. But since they own lots of feeble property and real estate investments, the ticking up of house investment will provide huge relief for the job market.
The slow GDP growth partly came from government pullbacks. The plans proposed by policy makers in the current debt debate to solve the government deficit are sure to hurt the economy, which in fact threatens to escalate government debt.
