You have been given the responsibility of operating the community theater in a small town. The costs of running the theater depend on the number of people that attend and these costs can be met either through taxes or admission fees or both. Only members of the community can attend the theater. You have found that if the town government levies no tax and charges an admission fee of $4.50, each person in the town attends the theater once a season. If a tax of $2.00 per person is imposed and an admission fee of $1.50 is charged, each person attends 4 times, and with a tax of $5.00 and an admission fee of $0.50, each person attends 7 times.
If you want to do what is best for the town, which of these three plans should you adopt? Costs are covered in each circumstance.

还是画图解。横轴为“看电影”，纵轴为“其它消费品”

1、先画出第一种情况的 BL（记为 BL1） 和 IC，这时候，BL 和 IC 的切点（记为 E1）对应的横坐标为 1。

2、画第二种情况的 BL（记为 BL2）。不要很精确，也不可能很精确，因为不知道收入，也不知道“其它消费品”的价格。只要能找出 BL2 和 E1 的关系就可以了。注意，因为有人头税，所以 BL2 和纵轴的交点在 BL1 和纵轴的交点之下。又因为这时候，看电影的价格便宜了，所以 BL2 比 BL1 要平缓。如果以现在的价格（$1.50）看一次电影，再加上人头税（$2.00），总共支出为 $3.00，要比没税而票价为 $4.50 时看一次电影的支出少，这也就是说，E1 一定在 BL2 下面。

3、同上，画 BL3。E1 一定在 BL3 之上（外）。

那么结论就很明显了，最佳选择是 2。
