The survival model you mentioned is quite like the survival model in insurance analysis.
In insurance, a policyholder will death, withdraw or survival during one period, so you need to calculate how many left in Year 2, Year 3, Year 4....
Is it the same meaning? in morgage business, borrowers will write-off or early-pay or advance redemption or survive in Year 2, Year 3, Year 4.
