IEP is a broad-base d, internation al journal that aims to publish policy-ori ented research about the
production , distribution and use of informatio n, including these subjects: the economics of the
telecommu nications, mass media, and other informatio n industries, the economics of innovat ion and
intellectu al property, the role of information in economic develop ment, and the role of informatio n and
informatio n technol ogy in the functioning of markets.
The purpose of the journal is to provide an interdiscipli nary and internation al forum for theoretical and
empirical research that addresses the needs of other researchers, governme nt, and professiona ls who
are involved in the policy-mak ing process. IEP publishes research papers, short contributions, and
surveys.
