What is onomatopoeia and onomatopoeic words?
英语 “Onomatopoeia”,源自希腊语, “onomatopoiia”,这一名称本身旳意思就是“造词”(making of words”). (Onions,1982:627)Word formation based on the imitation of natural sounds, i.e., English words “whisper”, “bang”, “hiss”. The word may be either the name of the sound itself as “moo”, or “crash”, or the name of sound as “cuckoo” or “peewit” .(建立在拟声之上旳构词法，如 “whisper”, “bang”, “hiss”,拟声词是能够摹拟事物本身，如moo, crash，或者是发声物本身，如“cuckoo”, “peewit”.（红嘴鸥）)
