经济学博士是如何培养出来的(转文章)

I strongly agree. It is really a nightmare during my first year for Phd in Economics. My schedule for every days was 2 hours for three meals and on the road,6 hours in bed and 16 hours for study. No exception! Could not be ill!!

Together, we had 6 students enrolling in. A guy from Czech Republic dropped just after few weeks. He said it is the Math that frighten him. One guy run away for other school. at the end of the first year, one girl was not allowed to take Prelim for having C in two courses. Then, three took the Prelim and only two of us passed all the three courses. One could not pass in Macro and Econometrics. It is only two in six!

What a life this is!
