spiiker英语编者按：魔法迷们看过来，《哈利波特》可能要拍续集啦！近日，曾执导过两部《哈利波特》系列电影的美国导演克里斯•哥伦布表示，希望能再次执导该电影系列。

在原著以及电影中，哈利、罗恩和赫敏这三位小伙伴从击败伏地魔到将各自的孩子送上通往霍格沃茨的火车，中间有将近20年的时间空白。虽然作者J.K.罗琳曾发布过几个短篇故事，填补这段时间的空白，但是原著党和影迷对于魔法世界的热度显然是有增无减。

哥伦布表示，自己还没有向原作者J. K. 罗琳提出拍续集的想法，但他本人对于这一大段的空档十分好奇，很想知道哈利和他的小伙伴们究竟都干嘛去了。

目前，罗琳正忙于《哈利波特》外传《神奇动物在哪里》的剧本创作，尚不清楚她是否会参与到新的续集之中。

Americandirector Chris Columbus, the man behind the first two "Harry Potter"movies, has gone on-record saying he'd like to direct another Harry Potterfilm.

Inmaking the suggestion, Columbus says he's always wondered what happened to thetrio of Harry, Ron and Hermione in the 19 years after they beat the greatvillain Voldemort.

Thebooks and films both have a nearly two-decade gap, and jump from their victoryover Voldemort to the scene where the trio send their own kids on the train tothe wizard school of Hogwarts.

AuthorJ.K. Rowling has published a number of short stories to fill in the gap overthe past years.

However,she's also been busy developing a spinoff titled "Fantastic Beasts andWhere to Find Them," which is going to feature Oscar-winning actor EddieRedmayne.

ChrisColumbus says he has yet to approach J.K. Rowling about a possible film, butdoes say he is eager to know what's on her mind about those missing years.

马上学：《哈利波特》与很多系列电影相同，续集是一部接着一部。上文中，installment可以表示“系列电影、小说中的一部”；表示“续集”可以用sequel和spinoff等词汇，与续集对应的“前传”则是prequel。例：The director shot a spinoffseries based on the hit TV drama, but it wasn't popular.（那个导演借着这部电视剧大热之际又拍了一部续集，结果失败了。）
