Actuary is no geek...
think about larry page, mark zuckerberg, eric schimidt...
those people are true geeks
geeks work hard and make great things happen.
actuaries work 40 hrs/week and drink coffee and read newspaper 50% of those time
actuaries are simply kids from state schools who can do calculus and want easy lives...
thats all.

plus risk management is a pain for every firm...those risk mangers get chained to their desks all day and make a pittance.
their existence is purely for compiance purposes
risk is not what u want to do
sigh...........
