在谈了分工巨大作用之后，亚当.斯密开始探讨分工的原因。斯密认为，分工是由人类的“互通有无，物物交换、互相交易的倾向造成的。”斯密指出，“由于我们所需要的相互帮忙，大部分是通过契约、交换和买卖取得的，所以当初产生分工的也正是人类要求互相交换这个倾向。”也就是说，交易在先，分工在后。
    但是，在表明分工和交易的前后顺序后，斯密又指出，“人们在多数场合表现出的不同才能，与其说是分工的原因，不如说是分工到结果。”斯密这句话的意思是，分工产生了人们的不同才能。
   我们总结上面的两段话，得出结论：交易——分工——能力差异。
   那我们又产生了一个疑问，交易的原因是什么呢？按照斯密的逻辑，交易的产生是因为人们之间需要互通有无，互相帮忙。那么，人们为什么要互通有无呢？互通有无的意思就是双方存在一种能力差异，就是"我有的你没有，你有的我没有"。那么这种能力差异又是怎么发生的呢？
   其实斯密的逻辑到了这一步就走不下去了。因为我们发现我们走上了一条循环无止境的思考歧途了。所以斯密他老人家只能无可奈何的说能力差异是人的“天性、天资上的差异”造成的。
  我们有时候觉得，上述的推论有点走歧途的意思，讨论这个好像没有多大的意义。但是，如果你读读国富论，你就会被斯密的逻辑思路所吸引，然后，你就会顺着他的思路寻找问题，最后发现他自己并没有想明白的问题。
  其实，我个人认为，分工和交易的起源问题，就像是鸡和鸡蛋的起源问题那样存满了辩证的矛盾。
  按照历史学家的考察，交易在分工之前。但历史学家的考察有多大程度的可信度呢？他会不会再过100年又发现是分工在交易之前呢？Maybe.

同感，读到这一段的时候也是有一点不明白。
斯密说如果只有天赋上的差异，而没有交易倾向则不会产生分工，也就是说劳动分工是交易倾向的必然结果，而交易倾向又是理性和语言的必然结果。动物（如蜜蜂）没有理性和语言，但具有明显的分工，如何解释？

如果先有分工请问一个人怎么分工！一个人把自己固定在一个职业那他需要别的商品时怎么办！！只有一个人自给自足才没有分工！！所以有几个人的交易才有分工！！
然后是关于蜜蜂的问题！！蜜蜂是责任分工！！不是直接的商品分工！！总的说是劳动分工！！蜜蜂有不同种类就像人类的不同职业！！不知道我这样的解释是否能让人满意！！
最后就是！！隔了这么久！希望你能看见！！
哦还有！！天赋决定人类分工的类型！！天赋促使人交易！交易决定分工！！在有市场的社会天赋直接到分工！！不知道你们有没有这么的认为！！觉得天赋和知识直接决定分工的职业！！这是因为我们在有市场的社会！！已经有交易的存在了！！
