考研单词的记忆要讲究方法和技巧，今天我们总结了20个熟词偏义，大家可以学习一下，认真记忆。

　1. remove v. 调动，免职

　　That officer must be removed from his position.

　　那位军官必须免职。

　　2. fault n. 地震(断层)

　　These earthquakes make the fault bigger.

　　地震又使断层扩大。

　　3. practice n. 惯例，习惯

　　The practice contributed to the high standing of professors in Germany.

　　这一惯例提高了德国教授的地位。

　　4. principal a. 最重要的，主要的

　　The low salary is her principal reason for leaving the job.

　　工资太低是她辞去那工作的最重要的原因。

　　5. credit v. 信用，信任

　　The demand for and the supply of credit is closely linked to changes in liquidity.

　　11. table vt. 搁置;提交讨论

　　The issue was laid on the table.

　　那一议案被搁置一边。

　　12. royalty n. 版税

　　The writer gets a 10% royalty on each copy of his book.

　　本书的每一次再版,作者将从中获得百分之十的版税。

　　13. level v. 对准，指责

　　Serious accusations have been leveled against the minister.

　　对部长提出了严厉的指控。

　　14. hide n. 皮革，兽皮

　　Parchment made from such hide.

　　15. screen v. 包庇

　　I am not willing to screen your faults.

　　16. piece v. (together)拼合，拼凑
