在读JFE的paper时,不能理解图片中的grant和vest的意思,因为本人不是期权相关领域的研究者,所以对相关词汇不是很了解。通过查询两个词都有“授予”的意思,但是在文中感觉不是一个意思。哪位坛友可以就图片中的内容给予详细的解释。谢谢

the answer is obvious. if your company does not have BBSOs, my company can easily "steal" you from your company, just with higher salary. But if your company has BBSOs, my company has to have the same or better BBSOs to attract you, not to mention higher salary. Got it?

The grantee is given equity compensation in the form of ESOs, usually with certain restrictions, one of the most important of which is the vesting period.
The vesting period is the length of time that an employee must wait in order to be able to exercise his or her ESOs. Why does the employee need to wait? Because it gives the employee an incentive to perform well and stay with the company. Vesting follows a pre-determined schedule that is set up by the company at the time of the option grant.

Since I do not have the paper, I do not know what is BBSOs. I can guess SOs is stock options. I do not know BB stands for.

BBSOs is defined that Broad-based employee stock options.
