Riyadh battles to salvage Prince’s summit amid Khashoggi outcry

At last year’s Future Investment Initiative gathering, Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman wandered around the halls like a rock star, mobbed by foreign executives and investors fighting for a selfie with Saudi Arabia’s de facto ruler and would-be reformer.
Now, amid unabated international outrage at the killing of Saudi columnist Jamal Khashoggi in the kingdom’s Istanbul consulate, those scheduled to attend the event on Tuesday are instructed to avoid public association with the 33 year old leader.
