Content: Chapter of thinking strategically;
Reflection:
The essence of a game of strategy is the interdependence of the player’s decisions. Two types of strategic interactions, one is sequential and the other one is simultaneous. Chapter 2 will develop in a preliminary way ideas and rules that will help playing sequential games. The subjective of chapter 2 is simultaneous game movement. The first rule of sequential games is look ahead and reason back, anticipate where your initial decision will ultimately lead, and use this information to calculate your best choice. Most strategic situation involve a longer sequence of decisions with several alternative at each and mere verbal reasoning can not keep track of them. Successful application of the rule of looking ahead and reasoning back needs a better visual aid. A tree diagram of this choice in the game in one such aid.
