Thank you for your interest in the CFA® course with Kaplan Financial.
These class notes are designed to be used for our tutored Revision Course. Kaplan Financial is one of the
few preparatory course provider in Asia that includes the revision phase – which we believe is an essential
component of a comprehensive study plan and should not be neglected, because:
z the study process takes almost six months and there is enormous benefit in review the material again
z understanding of topics is important (which can be learned in our Education Program) but not enough to
maximize your potential to pass! Many candidates find it difficult to get through the exam due to poor
exam technique and strategy
Our Revision Course will help you:
z crystallize and refresh the knowledge learned (most students learned from the Education Program)
z revisit some tricky and difficult concepts
z apply knowledge in questions and reinforce exam techniques
z develop your exam strategy
Two types of materials are included in the Revision Course:

z Exclusive tool at Kaplan Financial
z Presents concepts in a diagram with linkages – giving you an overview of each study session, key topics
and facts at a glance
2) Kaplan Revision Question Bank
z Contains over 2,000 questions with answers and explanations – ensure that you feel comfortable in
applying knowledge to exam standard questions
Recommendations
The CFA® examinations will be the toughest set of exams you have studied to date. The CFA Institute
recommends 300 study hours at each level. The Kaplan Financial courses are designed to develop your
understanding of the learning outcomes but plenty of home-study will be required to achieve success.

At Kaplan we view ourselves as your study partner, our courses and tutors will help guide you through the
study material and offer support but you will need to remain dedicated and focused to pass these
examinations.
We recommend that you would:
z Start your study as early as possible
z Focus on testing your progress with questions
z Avoid simply rewriting Schweser (if you have purchased) or the Institute material in your own
handwriting. Put simply there just isn’t enough time to do this
z Leave the mock exams until the final month and use them to practice your timings and exam technique.
Kaplan run an invigilated, full 6-hour mock exam.
z Don’t underestimate the time it will take to cover the material – 300 hours is a reasonable estimate
