那是因为上面提到的某些好杂志，按国内说法本来就不是什么“SCI核心”，是SCIE--即SCI扩展版的。
但是这并不代表他们的质量比那些“SCI核心”的要差。国内太习惯以什么核心不核心的来区分杂志了，而在国外主要是靠同行的公认来给杂志分等级。
我导师的儿子在英国排名前20的大学当老师，他给了我们一张英国经管学术界公认的学术期刊等级表。
这表是全英国经管学术界主要的参考标准，美国各大学也有类似的表，与英国的这张差别不大（英国的这张如是英国主办的杂志级别可能稍微高点）。


下面以“OPERATIONS RESEARCH AND MANAGEMENT SCIENCE”为例。
该表分得较细，比如运作管理方面还有“OPERATIONS MANAGEMENT AND TECHNOLOGY”这一类。下面如有知名但未列出的好杂志，那就是分在后面这一类中了。

杂志级别越高，质量越好，同等级别相差不大。



补充一点：我导师的儿子发表了这上面第三等级的一篇，第二等级的若干篇，第一等级和没有等级的若干篇才找到这个教职的。
                   国外常常只叫你列出你自己最满意的5篇。由于他们学校只认3、4等级的，所以在他们学校的网页介绍上，他只列出了一篇。
                   另外，杂志的级别作用很大。他这个职位的前任因为发表了3到4篇第四等级的论文，转去剑桥大学当教授了。
                   而令一位即使发表了7篇第三等级的（没有第四等级的）都还没评上副教授。
                    有此跟来访的美国拉斯维加斯大学经管学院的院长交流，他告诉我们要在他们学校得到tenure，其中一个硬性指标就是要在受聘的6年内发表10篇论文，
                   必须要有第四等级的一篇，第三等级的2篇。
