Directs the Statistical Services function for an assigned business area through managers.
Leads departmental interactions and staff management.
Collaborates extensively with department leaders focused on commercial opportunities to support successful pilots, product launches, prototyping, feasibility, product line enhancements and maintenance.
Aligns with commercial and/or consulting leaders to support custom studies. Drives project opportunities and outcomes.
Consults with internal and external clients on project design and feasibility; contributing to the methodology and technology sections of project proposals.
Oversees multiple projects from concept to completion. Directs statistical methodology and technology research to identify product growth opportunities.
Builds, develops and provides leadership within a stat services team.
Requirements:
Masters or Ph.D. or equivalent in Mathematics, Statistics, Information Technology or Bio-informatics preferred with a minimum of ten (10) years of experience with a Masters or eight (8) years experience with a Ph.D. in research projects, survey methodology applications and project management. In-depth knowledge of statistical methodologies applied to large data sets typical of health care surveys. Demonstrated consulting, creativity, project planning, attention to detail, and critical thinking. Advanced knowledge of validation and electronic records regulation. Ability to develop and present proposals to clients.

Applies appropriate methodology when implementing studies.
Defines statistical design and methodology to meet client information needs, conducts statistical analyses to derive conclusions from the study, and identifies new opportunities for standard reports and for value-added analytics.
Implements tactical study plans in answer to business questions, performs quantitative research, and provides written summaries of study results.
Participates in selecting statistical methodology for use in the development and launch of new products.
Gathers recommendations from others to develop research plans, identifying appropriate data sources and delivery options in meeting client information and analyses needs.
May consult with clients in support of project delivery.
Works on projects where independent judgment is used within generally defined procedures and practices.
Requirements:
Bachelor’s or Master's degree or equivalent in Statistics, Mathematics, Bio-informatics or related field with a minimum of four (4) years of experience with a Bachelor’s or a with a minimum of two (2) years of experience with a Master’s in operations research, market research, or applied statistics. Technical knowledge/skills include: multivariate analysis, regression analysis and forecasting, sampling, and knowledge of SAS programming languages in both PC and mainframe environments. Additional knowledge of C, Visual Basic, artificial intelligence methods and software, linear programming and market research methods are preferred.
Experience analyzing large amounts of data. Intermediate to advanced SAS and/or SPSS programming skills. Strong written communication skills.

Works on projects of moderate scope within defined procedures and practices.
Requirements:
Bachelor’s or Master's degree or equivalent in Statistics, Mathematics, or related field with a minimum of two (2) years of experience with a Bachelor’s or with up to two years of experience with a Master’s in operations research, market research, or applied statistics. Technical knowledge/skills include: multivariate analysis, regression analysis and forecasting, sampling, and basic knowledge of SAS programming languages in both PC and mainframe environments. Ability to proactively identify complex problems and needs ad develop solutions/recommendations to solve problems.

Provides expertise in analytic methodologies to assigned projects for IMS US Statistical Studies and provide ongoing analytic support for existing US Pharmaceutical Market Research Studies, with focus on Production Support activities.
Under supervision, provides statistical methodology support in the delivery of standard and custom studies. Performs regular statistical analysis/programming activities independently, and supports complex activities by applying proper statistical methodologies in project situations under guidance and coaching.
Supports ongoing research tasks, client proposals, ad-hoc client requests, and complex data investigations. Translates client business needs into requirements on analytic work; conducts statistical analyses to derive conclusions from the study and prepare written summaries or reports of study results; be able to interpret data and draw conclusions independently, for validation by supervisor.
Assists other statisticians in preparing analysis plans and statistical reports and performs validation of statistical analysis.
