文献摘要 |
Let me begin this lecture in commemo- ration of Henry L. Rietz, the first president of the Institute of Mathematical Statistics, by noting that his main research in statistics was on the theory and measurement of correlation (Rietz and Shade, 1908; Rietz and Smith, 1910; Rietz, 1912, 1916, 1919, 1920, 1924 (Chapter 8), 1927 (Chapter 4), 1932), and that a major part of my lecture will be devoted to the further development of this subject in situations where the variables under study pertain to qualitative/ categorical classifications |
