Title: Data Associate

Summary:

·        The Data Associate works as part of the data operationsteam to process and ingest macroeconmic data releases that are used by internaland external clients. This position is for a Data Associate that is fluent inEnglish. He/she will work on a team to contribute to general updating andproject work for the group as a whole.

Roles and Responsibilities:

·        Timely updating of assigned sources into databases

·        Quality checking the data before release

·        Managing changes on source websites, data formats, feedguides

·        Research and adding new data and/or sources as requestedby internal or external clients

·        Provide second level support to customer tickets

·        Process improvement feedback to data team and management

·        Participation in special projects assigned by supervisor

Required Education:

·        Bachelor's degree in Economics or equivalent educationalor work experience in processing or working with economic data or relevanttechnical experience or interest.

Required Experience:

·        Work effectively as a team member in an environment witha great deal of ‘work sharing’ and cooperative activities

·        The ability to understand data discrepancies and datathat require additional examination before ingestion and release to databasesand clients.

·        Extreme comfort and proficiency using the web forresearch and news gathering

·        Be able to work independently and keep management apprisedof any special data or release processing requirements.

·        Excellent written and oral communication skills

·        Demonstrate proficiency in using Microsoft Officeproducts including Excel macros for use in processing data.

·        Understand and utilize Internet Explorer to surf the webto view source sites, create and use bookmarks, to use search engines such as‘Google’ to undertake research on data assignments.

Other skills:

·        Fluent in Mandarin and English

·        VBA programming, desirable but not required

·        Fluent in Japanese
