Goalkeeper

[ˈɡoʊlkiːpər]

Whenever I think about the word goalkeeper, I think of watching soccer and the goalkeeper getting hit in the face or body with the soccer ball. How do they take the pain!
G-O-A-L-K-E-E-P-E-R. Goalkeeper. [ɡoʊlkiːpər]Goalkeeper is the formal word for a goalie. Most of the time you will hear goalie during games or casual conversation. A goalkeeper is a player that has to make sure the other team doesn't score.Usually, the sports that have a goalkeeper are soccer and hockey ! You're probably wondering "how am I going to remember this!" I will break down the word for you a little bit since you're here. So, the first part of the word is goal.
G-O-A-L which is the area that the team is trying to kick the ball into. A goal helps the team score points. Then the second-word K-E-E-P-E-R. Keeper. Which is a person responsible for keeping something safe. So it's a simple words, a goalkeeper is there to keep the goal safe!
