Critically analyse how far the system of corporate governance of one of the
companies listed below has been influenced by and complies with best practice
guidelines for corporate governance incorporated in the FSA’s Combined Code of
2003.

In order to analyse the impact of the best practice guidelines on the company’s
corporate governance system you should investigate not only the development of
the company’s system of corporate governance since 2002 but also take account of whether changes to the best practice guidelines are reflected in this development. You should analyse the reasons for and consequences of the
changes to the company’s system of corporate governance.

b) Based on a review of the literature on the relationship between corporate
governance and corporate performance discuss whether the composition of your
chosen company’s board and its committees is likely to impact positively on the
company's financial performance.
