近日在看SAS ADV，其中说到using indexes的优点和使用方法，在SAS中有个proc sort ，请问index和sort有何区别？

The physical order of records is changed when a data set is sorted.
The physical order of records is not changed when a data set is indexed. But it creates an index file.

Index is used when a typical query is to access less than 20% of the data.

In SAS a by statement can be use along with an index data set like a sorted data set.
