Consider the activity of digging up a garden. The output is the area A dug up

in a day. You can hire as many workers as you want, but each worker can

work at most 8 hours a day. Moreover, by law, work can only take place

between 8:00 am and 5:00 pm, with an hour break for lunch between 1:00

pm and 2:00 pm. Finally each worker needs one shovel to work with. Of

course the shovel of a worker working only 4 hours a day could be used by

another worker during the other 4 hours. We measure A in m² and L in hours.

Each worker with a shovel can clear 2m² per hour.

a. Draw the production function as a function of L when the number of

spades, S, is equal to 1. What does the production function becomes if S

is increased to 2?

a. With one spade, we can only use from 0 up to 8 hours of labour. Beyond this, extra labour does not helpas the single spade available is fully utilized. With two spades, the maximum output is reached for L = 16, i.e. when the two spades are fully used

我不明白啊,一人只能用一把铲子干活,两把是多余的,那为什么答案说两把L=16? 不明白啊

还有为什么这个FUNCTION是表示成这样的呢?

有没有高手指点啊,我现在有点混乱,语无伦次,最好有人给我指点迷津

这题确实够晕的,乱七八糟地诹了一通都不知道说的什么,呵呵.

题目中还提到了手套,但是手套是否是必须的呢?从题目里看不出来,带不带手套时生产率不一样,做题时也会有两种不同结果啊.

希望楼主把图传上来.

看了答案,似乎应该是这样:每个工人只能带着手套工作一小时.
