Recently, I found the phrase-- "carry trade" in some essays. To me, "carry trade" mainly refers to the speculations that borrow the low-interest-rate yen and then buy assets bearing higher yields.

The related question is, although the interest rate of Renminbi is also low, will RMB suffer from the carry trade speculations due to its appreciation expectation? If so, how can we do?

theoratically, yes, you can borrow low-interest-rate RMB, but it would be very difficult for you to send the money abroad for investment due to capital control imposed by the authorities.

what do the words "carry trade " in Chinese?

of course RMB may be exposed to speculative attack due to its well-renowned undervaluation. but china has too large a foreign reserve in dollar that unless everyone is soros no crisis can be triggered by carry trade.
