Position Description:
As a Business Analyst , you will play an important role in researching facts, structuring and performing analyses, and authoring presentations. You will be part of a collaborative engagement team that creates value for our clients by developing creative solutions that are visionary as well as pragmatic - solutions that have impact from the back room to the boardroom.
Secor's Strategy and Operations team brings deep experience across several industries to help clients address top management issues involving customer strategy, merger and acquisition strategy, transformation strategy and execution, supply chain optimization, investment prioritization, and financial and performance management. We have helped the world's largest multinationals develop and execute successful strategies.
Business Analysts will have the opportunity to work in one of the exciting Strategy & Operations service lines listed below:
Corporate Strategy: We help companies in their efforts to understand their most important decisions from every angle, and we bring a pragmatic approach that helps them transform strategy into an executable plan to deliver sustainable business performance. Specific areas you may work on include business strategy, customer & market strategy, mergers & acquisitions, performance improvement, and business transformation.
Supply chain: Includes the planning and execution of materials, assets, information and funds from the raw material suppliers through manufacturers, distributors, retailers and the ultimate consumer, including any associated reverse flows. Deloitte’s Supply Chain practice offers unique services designed to help clients manage this complexity and drive value through their supply chain operations.
Finance and Performance Management: From improving the efficiency of the finance organization, to providing more accurate and timely decision making information, the Finance & Performance Management (F&PM) service line focuses on the needs of the CFO and the finance function. As the role of finance evolves within an organization, balancing the need to be both a strategist and a steward, finance organizations will need to transform their processes, people, and analytic tools in order to manage these changes effectively.
Private Company Services: The Private Company Services (PCS) practice is known in the marketplace for helping our clients build strong businesses. PCS Consulting currently offers business strategy, financial and performance management and technology strategy advisory services customized to the needs of private companies. Our vision is to be THE Centre of Expertise for private company consulting in Canada.
Operations Excellence: Operations Excellence practitioners at Deloitte are equipped with professional qualifications such as; PEng, BASc, PMP, CAMP, Six Sigma and Lean. They address performance issues across industries such as Consumer Packaged Goods, Energy and Resources, Financial Services, Healthcare, Manufacturing and the Public Sector. Operations Excellence practitioners improve operational efficiencies using cross-functional skill sets to significantly impact their clients' bottom line. Deloitte supports their practitioners with innovative tools and methodologies developed to help practitioners work more effectively.
As a Business Analyst , you would work across a wide range of industries, performing research, data analysis and modeling to solve complex business problems. You would also contribute directly to the development of proposals, presentations, and publications. This kind of on-the-job training provides our Business Analyst Interns with the foundation for a successful career in management consulting.
Qualifications:
We are seeking exceptional individuals from a variety of schools and programs. Successful candidates will have the following qualifications/attributes/characteristics:
• Students enrolled in an Undergraduate Business, Economics, Finance, Engineering or Math program
• Outstanding academic credentials with proven analytical skills
• Demonstrated leadership ability
• Superior verbal and written communication skills
• Demonstrated ability to work effectively in teams
• Comfortable working in an ambiguous environment with pressing deadlines and constantly changing client needs and conditions
• A creative bent with the ability to conceptualize new approaches and solutions
• The desire to exceed client needs while remaining committed to Deloitte's vision and objectives
• The poise and bearing to represent Deloitte with the maturity and professionalism that is the hallmark of being the number one professional services firm in Canada
• Chinese and English bilingualism is required for placement at Shanghai and Beijing office (if applicable)
