I don't think 2-3-2 format is benificial for the team which win home-court advantage. In addtion to the two cases you have mentioned, what if team A lose one game in the first two matches? It means team B have a big chance to beat team A by 4-1.
Even though you assume the two teams are competitive, the 2-3-2 format will help team B get the match point at first. Therefor, I think the team which gain home-court advantage would prefer 2-2-1-1-1 format.

I do not watch NBA much, but the analysis is interesting. It is just like "the freak economics" or something related. It will be good for NBA fans to read this and learn more!

The ads  revenue is a mass part of the NBA's payoffs, from econoimic opinion, as the author recommended it wouble be a better result that  Boston Celticts wins Miami   Heat. However to fans, NBA's payoffs is nonsense to them, so what the want is their supporting leagues to win, which bringes the max magrins for their recreation.As I knew, the result didn't turn out to be what the author recommmed. Thanks for the author's analysis providing another aspect to watch the NBA.

Please read my blue note carefully. I already assumed two teams are competitive teams, so neither of them can beat the other team by 4:0 or 4:1.

I like NBA. So cool ,I like LBJ for this honor season, achieve what should have belonged to him long before we expected!

I think OCT' players are stronger and younger than Miami Heat's players. However, from a market perspective, I would prefer Miami winning the final championship.
