如果你没有任何金融背景，我建议你读Master，没钱出国读就在国内读，PhD很难申请到的，国外（尤其是美国）,PhD in Finance的申请竞争相当激烈，我在新加坡，很多我的同学都是北大或者人大的金融本科，都没申请到，只好来这里了~（惨！）

Actually, I am getting my PhD in Microbiology.  I would like to change to finance field and still do research and teaching.  Would it be a dream?  Has such dream become true before?

If you are doing your PhD now in US, you can apply Finance PhD directly, but probably need to finish your PhD in Microbiology first. If you are still in China, the chance will be much smaller, but you can still have a try.

In any case, CFA does not help.

CFA dose nothing with the application of PhD.
