Interest Rate Converter--- Graphic User Interface
1-Introduction
Since it is not easy for everyone, especially those who get to know matlab for a short tiime, to use command-line functions,I decide to write some GUI(Graphic User Interface) for some of the functions in this section. This GUI tool is based on the function: interest rate converter.Using this tool you can convert interest rate from one compounding frequence to another in a graphic window. It is straight-forward and easy to cope with.2-How to use the GUI Tool
Since the purpose of this tool is the calculation of equivalent interest rates with different compunding frequencies, you are better to get your data ready before running it:
1.Interest rate to be converted. It should be a scalar bigger than 0 and smaller than 1, and it is supposed to be filled into the blank in the left-top of the window.
2.Original compounding frequency. Be awared, it should be a single value. You should have it selected in the left list box of the window.
3.New compounding frequencies. Having the frequency/frequencies selected in the right list box of the window. Remember, you can select more than one value, which would be very helpful when you need a comparison between different compounding frequencies.
After doing so, you can click the "convert" button on the bottom, then the answer(s) will be displayed in the box in the right-bottom side of the window, from which you can select and copy the answers.
