TOPICS: Against this background, we seek papers that, in particular, topics related to exploring:
- Roles of high growth entrepreneurship for regional development
- Heterogeneity of economic milieu characteristics and product development among firms in different regions
- Characteristics of regional economic milieus capable of generating high-growth entrepreneurship
- Roles of the regional economic milieu for launching entrepreneurial initiatives
- Characteristics of the entrepreneurs that launch entrepreneurial initiatives and are successful in turning them into high-growth firms
- Roles of the business cycle for the emergence of high-growth entrepreneurship
- Characteristics of the business opportunities, and, in particular, innovations that form the basis for high-growth entrepreneurship
- Regional innovation policies that can stimulate the development of innovations that can form the basis for high-growth entrepreneurship
- Regional policy measures that aim to stimulate high-growth entrepreneurship in different regional economic milieus
- Policies to better support existing small and medium-sized enterprises and entrepreneurs to improve the likelihood of them becoming high-growth firms
- Firms' assimilation of innovations to become high-growth entrepreneurial firms, and
- The support of high-growth entrepreneurship in urban and rural economic milieus

BEST PAPER AWARDS: To stimulate high quality papers a Best Paper Award of Euro 1.000 as well as a Best PhD Candidate Paper Award of Euro 700 will be awarded. The members of the scientific committee will select the winning papers. Only papers submitted before the deadline will be evaluated.
SUBMISSION INFORMATION: Abstract Submission Deadline: January 27th, 2013. Abstract - maximum 500 words including: Title of the paper, selected theme (choose from the list above numbered from I to X.), keywords, name(s) and academic title of the author(s), affiliation(s), complete mail address(es), e-mail address(es) and corresponding author(s). The abstract should be submitted by e-mail to: 2013uddsymp@hv.se
Please submit the abstract using the Word 2010 version of Microsoft. We suggest naming your file "PRESENTERS NAME_Uddevalla2013.doc" to avoid confusion between abstracts. Results of the review process will be communicated to authors by approximately February 20th, 2013. Submission Deadline for Complete Papers accepted for presentation (in Word 2010 or earlier version): May 5th, 2013.
