Q30 : when should buy physical gold rather than gold futures?
Answer:   when lease rate is less than storage cost.

有些不太理解 答案。“If the lease rate is less than the storage cost, the lender will save on the storage cost" ..
难道 lender 不是save storage cost  & 同时earn the lease rate?

这题我也纠结了好久然后想明白了，你买future的时候其实是付了leasing-storage cost这部分钱的，如果你买实物租不出去的话就浪费掉了。所以当这部分钱是负的也就是leasing<storage cost的时候，买实物黄金是赚的

不是。你如果lease不出去的同时，也不用付storage cost，才有可能在那种情况下赚到。如果lease不出去，实物投资必亏。正常情况下，实物投资和期货投资效果都一样，否则就出现套利了。我认为这题的错误可能是：原本想设计convenience yield，而且是买future效果更好。

既然买future 是 “付” "leasing-storage"，那么，当这部分钱是负的(也就是leasing<storage)时候，说明买future是 “得” "storage-leasing"，那就应该买future才对啊。

我觉得这道题貌似出的有问题，应该是如果根据future算出的lease rate是negative，并且lease rate还小于storage cost的话，那么应该hold physical gold.但如果根据future算出的lease rate 是positive,那就应该hold futures，跟storage cost没啥关系。
关于gold futures这部分我看的比较晕，不知思路对不对。
