【摘 要】The article reports on a study focused at integrating the unified theory of acceptance and use of technology (UTAUT) with charismatic leadership theory. It also examines the role of project champions influencing user adoption. A survey conducted on 209 employees reflected that project champion charisma was associated with several factors including increased performance expectancy, social influence and facilitating condition perception of users. It suggests that leadership behavior plays an important role in Information Technology (IT) implementation success and failure. The study establishes a link between particular leadership behaviors and the critical antecedents of behavioral intention and use in information system implementation projects. Further research in the area is recommended.
