内容摘要：什么影响了个体的博彩参与决策？本文采用2005年中国12城市居民调查数据，实证发现：总体而言，群体成员参与博彩的邻里效应提高了个体的博彩参与期望，而个体收入满意度的作用正好相反。博彩制度的不规范降低了邻里效应的正面作用，而个体过去和现在参与博彩的经历、较高的债务水平、较高的受教育程度都使得他更加期望进行博彩。此外，收入满意度指标并不是个体风险态度量度的一个重复。我们的研究为博彩管理体制的发展和完善架设了一个新的社会结构和社会特征的政策视角：调整社会群体结构、提高个体满意度和幸福感，这些都是在增加博彩筹集社会公益资金的同时，避免博彩成为低收入、低教育程度个体的陷阱所必需的。 关键字：邻里效应 满意度 博彩参与

Neighborhood Effect, Income Satisfaction, and Lottery Participation
Abstract：What affects individual’s lottery participation decision? Utilizing a household data set across 12 cities in China in 2005, we empirically find that overall neighborhood effect of social group members’ lottery participation increases the individual’s expectation of participating in lottery, while the role of income satisfaction is exactly the opposite. Contextual effect has been confirmed which reduces the positive role of neighborhood effect. The past or current experience of lottery participation, a higher debt level, or a higher education level all make individuals more likely expect to participate in lottery. Moreover, our measure of income satisfaction is not a proxy for risk attitude. The policy implication is that government should pay attention to adjusting social structure and improving individual’s satisfaction and happiness in order to avoid the lottery trap for low-income or low-education people and promote the role of lottery in raising fund for public welfare.
